Irene Lim + Echo

I have come to embrace the quote "it's not the place, it's the people you know in it" ever since I started traveling. The people I met and made friends with made all the trip and the experience worthwhile and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
When I came to live in Manila in 2011, the first few people Ive gotten close with outside work are Valerie and her down-to-earth and very welcoming friends.
Irene is one of them. Irene is Nicole's younger sister. If I may say so, I am actually jealous of the Lim-sibling bonding. I get to hang out with them once in a while and when I do so, I always wish that my sibling-bonding times are like theirs as well. The 4 of them (they have still 2 siblings, Denise and Bernie) are so close and they somehow share the same interest: Japan and Japanese culture.  My interest for Japanese culture has been rekindled because of my weekend hang-outs with these guys together with ValerieBea, Genevieve, Arlene and Birdy formerly called, The Pizza pals. Bea coined us a new name the Co-co club (Valerie and Irene's pets names Coco and Echo combined) earlier last Saturday, but after Coco peed on Irene's brand new duvet, Im not so sure if we should keep it :p

I wanted to make this an "In her Room feature" because I fancy Irene's manga-style illustrations on Deviant Art but one of my rolls with details of her room got exposed pretty bad. I should never have purchased those expired film rolls in that small photography shop in Ilocos! What I got left are all portraits of her, so I just made this post a sort of an Artist Portrait session instead :)
Irene will be leaving to study in Taiwan soon and Im so happy to have had taken these before she leaves :)
P.S Their new home is grand!
And that is an understatement.
